Slim, Sleek, Stunning

Never a heavy burden, shares beautiful moments with me and stays with me for long periods of time… I think I found my new best friend.

-------

Sometimes I’m conflicted by the idea of switching to a Samsung phone, for the very frivolous reason of Samsung being a Korean brand… Don’t judge, just half a year in Korea was enough to convince me that I was Korean in my past life ;) (I’m just kidding)

Recently I got to test out Samsung’s GALAXY ALPHA 4G+, in Frosted Gold (insert sparkles here). The other two colours are Dazzling White and Charcoal Black. After spending time with my new best friend, I really got to know more about the phone not just as something “Korean”.

-------

1. Slim and light

The moment I picked up the phone, I couldn’t believe how light it was. Should have seen my face. And it’s really slender too. It fits into my pocket without looking bulky and so thin I can put it in my wallet. Lovely.

Dimensions in height x width x depth, in cm: 13.24 x 6.55 x 0.67 Weight, in g: 115

2. Selective Focus

I really enjoy taking photographs (not just of myself or my ootds as commonly misunderstood due to my Instagram) and the GALAXY ALPHA has some pretty solid camera features that allow better photographs to capture moments in my life with its 12 megapixel advanced camera. It has three flagship camera features: Fast Autofocus, Selective Focus and Real-time HDR, but Selective Focus is my favourite.

I’ve always wished I could get that bokeh effect with my smartphone and this phone allows that!! All you need to do is turn on the Selective Focus when you open up the camera and snap a picture.

How artistic.

And the coolest part is that you can choose the type of effect you want even after taking the photo:

I love it.

3. Super Battery

10% battery left? No biggie ;)

Samsung’s GALAXY ALPHA has this amazing feature called Ultra Power Saving Mode. Say goodbye to power banks.

This mode turns the screen to black and white and shut downs all unnecessary features. The remaining 10% of the battery life can be extended to up to 10 hours worth of standby time.

10% gives 10 hours.
Are you kidding me - that’s even longer than 100% of my current battery life.

-------

So here you go – my three favourite features of the Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+. There are other features that I love, like its AMOLED screen which allows easy viewing even in strong sunlight and its Octa Core Processor, which in layman terms, means it has eight brains instead of the usual four, but I wanted to keep this simple. Its new fingerprint security – which you can use to lock your phone AND make payments online – is also really convenient. No more worrying about forgetting passwords. Finally, if you’re already a Samsung user, the GALAXY Life app should be familiar to you. Customized to your interests, the GALAXY Life app keeps you updated with the latest privileges and treats around your location. It also recommends you apps you’ll find useful!

If you’re looking to purchase the Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+, head down to any Samsung Experience Store to purchase it at only $848, without any plan. Keep a look out for the ongoing promotion of the free Tab 3 Lite (7.0") Wi-Fi too!

2. Tous Les Jours / 뚜레쥬르
3. Check out Seoul's HDBs!!!!! hahaha
4. Visiting some temple in the Seodaemun area which was so difficult to find
5. Javin and his zen

Creamier

Oversized Shirt from FASH MOB / Rena Necklace from COJAYN

Typical safe colours for accessories are white and black but grey is a good colour to keep too! I think it goes with everything. Although I don't think I look awesome in grey, it still is a colour that I like. Really like all the accessories I've gotten from CoJayn so far, they're pretty and of good quality. Plus there are so many thigns to choose from??? I'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye there.

On Thursday, Javin (finally) brought me to Creamier because I've been wanting to try their ice cream and waffles for the longest time. He's not really into sweet stuff like me (except for Chocolate) so he's really such a doll for always bringing me for desserts <3

We went at about 3+ pm because we thought mid-afternoon would see less crowds but it was still insanely crowded... We resorted to sitting at the public unsheltered tables outside the shop despite the merciless sun because there was a big group of people waiting for tables and we didn't want to wait. Thankfully, before we headed to the public tables, two people left their indoor seats, which was just nice for Javin and I.

Waited for a bit before our waffles came. We ordered Dark Chocolate Ferrero and Black Sesame. I liked the Black Sesame better; the Dark Chocolate wasn't dark enough for me. I prefer Udders' or Daily Scoop's.

Jay Ahr Spring/Summer 14

I got to know about Jay Ahr through the Fash Mob owners and I thought I'd share.

I'm really enjoying my post-internship by catching up on my life and everything has been good so far - I got all my biz mods that I wanted at the first round - how lucky is that!? Excited for this semester because student life is pretty neat yet not too excited because it's my last semester in school. I just turned financially independent not too long ago too so I feel quite 'adult'. I wonder how my future will turn out.

Lacia Wing Stud from COJAYN / Sydney Pleated skorts from FASH MOB

Pretty earrings yesterday. Sparkly but not over-the-top because not the whole earring is covered with faux gemstones. I like how it looks like a crystal/metallic wing.

HPBD Justin and Shawn

Today I met my school mates for lunch at Lowercase to celebrate two of their birthdays. Javin and I had cai fan for breakfast pretty late so we went for pancakes, which I really liked! After lunch I forced Javin to be my model lol

This group of friends used to be my classmates but we have parted ways for more than a year now since we started pursuing our specialisations, so we rarely see each other in and outside of school. Meeting them always reminds me of freshie days, when I was still enthusiastic and bubbling with excitement about university life. We all eventually fell back into our Singaporean student moulds and no longer live as dangerously... Sometimes I miss that #yolo first sem, but I really look forward to post-grad life because it's the start of a whole new chapter of my life and I'm finally breaking away from the mundane education system. No more studying and examinations!

Some of my friends have already graduated and are working, some are interning, some just finished their internships. I just ended my 11-week internship at an awesome ad agency and since then I've been just plain tired - I think all the tiredness accumulated and I'm repaying my debts. It's not even that work is stressful, but it is really tiring trying to keep your life together when you work office hours. While my work is not stressful compared to my colleagues, I was tired out from squeezing activities from whatever time I had. Generally didn't get to sleep more than 6 hours a day. Is work-life balance even possible...? It seems like it will always be something we will keep working towards, but unattainable for many.

Ok this post is just full of boring adult stuff so gonna stop here bye bye
